Tribute to the victims of Flight TAM3054

Exactly four years ago, on July 17th 2007, Brazil and the world witnessed the most shocking air crash in Brazilian soil up to date.

At 17:16h, TAM flight 3054 took off from Salgado Filho airport in Porto Alegre, bound to the international airport of Congonhas, in the heart of the city of São Paulo, landing at 18:51h. In a fatality not yet completely clarified, the aircraft turned left off the runway, crossing Washington Luiz Avenue and crashing into the building of TAM Express located opposite the airport.

In this accident, 199 lives were interrupted abruptly, 187 on the aircraft and 12 were on the ground. Each of these people had a life story to be written ... dreams, desires and projects ...

It could happen to any of us, I flew this same route twice and I know dozens of people who often do. Therefore it is necessary to remember and pay our tribute to those who died in this tragic accident. And also to serve as a warning to the airport authorities and airlines in order to implement the necessary measures to avoid other fatalities.

In the fourth anniversary of this tragedy, I dedicate my prayers to the victims, and to their families and friends, I ask to our Heavenly Father to console the irreparable pain of losing a loved one.

It´s a lesson to be learned: never miss the opportunity to show people around us, how important they are in our lives. Never leave for tomorrow the opportunity to say "I love you" to those who really matter to us.
